Excerpts from the granddaughter of #PerpetualHelpMedicalCenter - Las Piñas's 4th #COVID19 survivor.
"I just want to share this good news and how God worked in our lives. Last March 12, my Lola, started having fever. I was worried by that time already because of news related to COVID-19.
My Lola had on and off fever with itchy and aching throat. Few days went by and still there had been no improvement in my Lola’s condition. We recommended having her checked through the online app Aide and requested for a doctor to visit her at home. We do not want to bring her to the hospital because of fear that she might contract the virus.
The doctor said she had pneumonia and gave her antibiotics. Her fever still progressed despite taking the antibiotics. At this point, we urged my Tatay and my Ninang (who was living with Lola) to bring her to the hospital.
She was admitted at Perpetual Help Medical Center - Las Piñas on March 20, 2020. Due to her symptoms appearing to be COVID-like symptoms, she was isolated on a floor together with the other PUI patients.
Knowing my Tatay, he would never let my Lola go through all those alone. He sacrificed himself and joined Lola in her room to be isolated too -- not worried by the possibility of getting infected himself just to stay alongside with his mother in this critical battle.
Perpetual Help Medical Center got swab sample of Lola. Her fever subsided already but she still had diarrhea and coughing. After more than a week of painful waiting, on March 30, we got the saddest news -- Lola was COVID-19 positive.
Despite the news, we never ran out of hope that Lola would be able to surpass this challenge. We knew that the odds favored us because God was with us. Multiple swab samples were again taken from my Lola, and finally, just today, our prayers were finally heard as our Lola’s tests came out negative! We were very happy that we couldn't contain the joy and gratefulness in our hearts. This is a living testament on how God fulfills His promises to those who believe in Him!
Today, my Lola, along with my father, were discharged from Perpetual Help Medical Center - Las Piñas. Praise God! Indeed, God is good all the time!"
