"I consider being an Oncology Nurse a very dynamic profession. It enables nurses like myself to constantly evolve as a person into being an expert in our craft and very knowledgeable in our specialization.
In fact, I always feel a different sense of excitement whenever I interact with our patients because, for me, as an Oncology Nurse, I become a servant of God by being instrumental to the patients’ recovery from cancer and its effects on their physical, emotional and mental health. Oncology Nurses like me are privileged to be with them in their journey especially during the challenging phase of their lives.
At Perpetual Help Medical Center – Las Piñas, we offer everything that caters to the needs of our cancer patients. We have complete diagnostic services such as the Laboratory, upgraded facilities like our MRIs, CT Scans and the highly advanced PET CT Scan, and other state-of-the-art imaging procedures. Our Comprehensive Cancer Care under the HOPE Institute is comprised of our Cancer and Infusion Center, HOPE Continuity of Care, Multidisciplinary Pain Management Clinic, Ostomy Care Clinic, Palliative and Hospice Care for Cancer Patients and the Dr. Robert P. Dulay Radiation Oncology Center, not to mention our Cancer Surgery procedures.
For 10 years that I have been with Perpetual Help Medical Center – Las Piñas, I am very grateful that this institution has opened its doors for my professional growth. With the support of the management and our doctors, I am now a Board Member of the Philippine Oncology Nursing Association and, with this opportunity, I am blessed to give back and support our patients even in my own little capacity.
Perpetual Help Medical Center – Las Piñas has been like a second home for me."
Mr. Jimvert Camarillo
Cancer and Infusion Center Head Nurse
#WhyILoveMyJob?
"I love my job because it allows me to do what God has asked me to do -- which is to be a Nurse.
I consider my job as an Emergency Room (ER) Nurse a privilege because it gives me faith, and makes me appreciate and understand the importance of being patient, calm and compassionate even with the unpredictability of every shift.
Being here at #PerpetualHelpMedicalCenter is a blessing because, aside from this institution supporting medical research and innovation, it also allows every personnel like me to aspire, grow and improve for the betterment not only of my career, but also in becoming the best person I can be."
Chiara Alyssa R. Cabarios
Emergency Room Staff Nurse
#WhyILoveMyJob?
"Ever since I wclass="stories-main-div"s in High School, I have always dreamt of becoming a doctor. After graduating as a Medical Technologist, I immediately enrolled at the University of Perpetual Help JONELTA Foundation School of Medicine.
As soon as I passed my board exam, I only thought of Perpetual Help Medical Center – Las Piñas as the only hospital which could help me not only fulfill my lifelong dream, but also to provide me with the opportunity to learn first-hand from the best medical experts in the field of Internal Medicine.
This motivated me to pursue my Residency and Fellowship Training Program in this very same Medical Institution.
With the support that Perpetual Help Medical Center had given me, I feel privileged to the point that it had become my advocacy to always give back to our community by ensuring that my patients will be getting the best medical service as possible – something that may be experienced in this hospital because aside from it having the best facilities, all the nurses and administrative staff are all highly-trained and well-equipped to perform their duties with efficiency and compassion.
With the combination of all these, I can say that Perpetual Help Medical Center – Las Piñas is one of the top medical centers in the Philippines."
Dr. Gener Idor
Internal Medicine - Pulmonology
#WhyILoveMyJob?
"Basically, it always feels good to help people. After every procedure or operation, I feel a different kind of fulfillment every time I see my patients smile while thanking me for treating them.
Aside from this, as a doctor, I need to devote so much of my time for my patients, but being a family man as well, I make sure that I still spend time to bond and share laughter with my family.
Perpetual Help Medical Center – Las Piñas has always played a big role in the growth of my medical practice. After years and years of being with this medical institution, when it comes to the availability of the most advanced medical facilities and the quality of healthcare service we give to our patients, I can literally say that Perpetual Help Medical Center – Las Piñas is truly one of the best tertiary hospitals in the country."
Dr. Jeriel John D. Majam
ENT - Head Neck Surgery
#WhyILoveMyJob?
"I love my job because I want to see children with disability become an integral part of the community. In my almost 10 years of being a Special Education (SPED) Consultant at Perpetual Help Medical Center’s Neurosciences Complex, my dream is to one day see my students with #autism get a competitive employment. It may be very challenging to do at first glance, but with the grace of God and the unending support of our medical institution, I firmly believe that no dreams are impossible to reach.
Being a SPED teacher is a tough and challenging job. In fact, there were several instances in the past that I myself have suffered from physical injuries caused by the violent tantrums of my patients. However, I have continued to treat my job as a blessing because I have an opportunity to inspire my patients and their families to continue aspiring for the best and not be overcome by hopelessness.
Being also a father of an autistic child, I believe that they are also capable to do great things in life. That’s why it has always been my advocacy to train and inspire them, and help them believe that despite their disability, they have a special place in this world.
Perpetual Help Medical Center’s Neurodevelopmental Center is well-equipped to effectively cater to the needs of our patients. With the expertise of our doctors, highly trained occupational therapists, state-of-the-art diagnostic facilities and services, including an effective learning and transition program, I must say that we possess everything that can potentially help our patients enjoy not only a productive life, but also become a genuinely happy individual."
Mr. Evert L. Malapad
Special Education Consultant
