A stroke can happen at any time. The more time passes without seeking medical treatment, the more irreversible damages happen. It is CRUCIAL that you contact emergency services within 1 hour after symptoms begin.
Here are a few key symptoms of a stroke that you should look out for:
- Face:
Ask them to smile. Does one side of their face droop down? - Arms:
Ask them to raise both arms. Does one drop down? - Speech:
Ask them to say a short phrase. Are they slurring or incomprehensible? - Time:
If the answers to all of these questions are yes, take note of the time the symptoms started and immediately call emergency services.
