Dr./BGen. Antonio Laperal Tamayo, Chairman of the Board and Chief Executive Officer of the University of Perpetual Help DALTA Medical Center–Las Piñas, was named Hospital CEO of the Year at the Hospital Management Asia (HMA) 2026 Awards, held on September 3, 2026, in Bangkok, Thailand.
The award was accepted on his behalf by LTC Richard Antonio M. Tamayo, President of the Medical Center, and Dr. Rachel Antonette G. Tamayo, Member of its Board of Directors.
Dr./BGen. Tamayo emerged from a competitive field of 409 entries submitted by 153 hospitals across 18 countries, affirming his visionary leadership and commitment to advancing healthcare in the Philippines. The recognition also reflects the collective dedication of the Medical Center’s physicians, nurses, allied health professionals, educators, administrators, and employees.
The award holds special significance as the Medical Center celebrates its 50th Founding Anniversary in 2026. Established in 1976 as a 50-bed community hospital, it has grown under Dr./BGen. Tamayo’s leadership into a 285-bed tertiary teaching and training institution, equipped with state-of-the-art diagnostic, surgical, and therapeutic facilities and supported by highly qualified physicians across diverse specialties and subspecialties.
Beyond patient care, the Medical Center advances professional excellence through residency, fellowship, specialty training, scholarships, and continuing development programs. As an AFP-Affiliated Reserve Medical Center, it also contributes to national emergency preparedness, disaster response, and humanitarian missions.
